Chief Pharmacist – Haematology and Oncology
This is a unique opportunity to join the Pharmacy leadership team in a major Hospital, by leading the Haematology / Oncology Clinical Pharmacy services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to provide a comprehensive Haematology / Oncology Clinical Pharmacy service throughout the Hospital.
Responsibilities:
* Develop the Haematology / Oncology clinical pharmacy service in line with the best national + international practice.
* Develop clinical protocols to ensure appropriate medication use within the haematology / oncology pharmacy service
* part of selection, and lead on introduction and management of IT infrastructure
* Manage Quality and Risk assessments including investigation and corrective actions on any medication errors.
* Work closely with the Aseptic Services Pharmacy Manager to ensure the safe + efficient supply of compounded product to Haematology / Oncology.
* Provide pharmaceutical guidance to the set-up and management of haematology/oncology clinical trials – with appropriate colleagues.
* Work proactively with the Pharmacy Procurement team, Hospital Haematology / Oncology Consultants + finance representatives to manage the introduction of new therapies, and business cases .
* Represent the Hospital in national hospital committees, including the NCCP Pharmacists Lead Group, EPIC / NCIS User Groups etc
Requirements:
* A minimum of five years of relevant post registration hospital experience – to include time in a Senior role in Haematology / Oncology.
* Hospital Pharmacy service delivery experience including people and process development and leadership.
* Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland as a qualified pharmacist.
* A relevant post grad qualification e.g. Masters – Clinical Pharmacy and/or MBA etc
